Washoe County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a stolen vehicle suspect late last night following a short pursuit and search in the area of Sun Valley Boulevard and Highland Ranch Parkway.

The incident began at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018. Deputies were investigating a report of possible shots fired in the area of Chimney and Leon Drives when they were approached by a dark colored Toyota Tundra. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle to see if the driver could provide any information related to the shots fired call when the Tundra suddenly drove off at a high rate of speed.

Deputies pursued the Tundra and discovered that the driver had driven the vehicle into a guard rail near the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and Highland Ranch Parkway and fled the scene. Deputies discovered that the Tundra had been reported stolen earlier in the day and a perimeter was established. Sheriff's Office K9 units and officers from the Reno Police Department assisted with the search.

The Sheriff's Office K9 was able to track the suspect. The suspect was combative towards the K9 and deputies but was eventually taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Jason Crisp, age 33 (place of residence unknown as of this writing). Crisp also has an outstanding warrant out of San Luis Obispo.

Crisp is being booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility as a fugitive from justice and is expected to receive additional charges based on last night's incident, including felony eluding, obstructing and resisting, mistreatment of a police animal, possession of a stolen vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident.
