The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has received numerous calls from concerned parents about threats being made at our area schools. We are indirect contact with the Washoe County School District and the Washoe County School Police. The Sheriff's Office is continually monitoring any threats concerning the safety of our area’s students and schools.
Sheriff Darin Balaam stated, “We take the safety of our children extremely seriously, and we are actively working with our regional law enforcement partners to best ensure the safety of our community.”
The WCSO encourages the community to continue to report any threats or concerning communications to law enforcement.
