Washoe County Detention Facility Inmate Passes Away at Hospital After Suffering Medical Emergency

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at approximately 1:30 am, a Washoe County Detention Facility inmate was transported to a local hospital by REMSA due to a medical emergency. Despite continuous medical interventions, the inmate passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct their official death investigations, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will release the inmate's name upon next of kin notification.
While this investigation is ongoing, there is no indication of foul play or criminal activity at this time.
