On the afternoon of October 12th, WCSO deputies were dispatched to a report of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
When deputies arrived, they located a juvenile victim being tended to by other juveniles and a school bus driver who, moments prior, had dropped the victim off.
After further investigation on the scene, deputies identified the driver of the vehicle that struck the juvenile victim as 45-year-old Mario Alberto Martinez. Martinez was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, which was his third offense.
The juvenile victim was transported by REMSA to a local hospital for treatment.
