Washoe County Sheriff's Office Investigating Shooting Death

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to the 100 block of E. 4th Ave in Sun Valley for a reported shooting.
When Deputies arrived on the scene, they located a man with a gunshot wound. That man was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating this as an isolated incident, and there is no outstanding threat to the public.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct its formal death investigation and release the victim’s name upon next of kin notification.
