Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrest serial burglar

Washoe County Deputies have arrested Daniel Howard, 60 years old of Reno, on multiple burglary and drug related charges.

On June 11, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Washoe County Patrol Deputies responded to a report of subject trespassing on an active construction site on Interstate 80 near Lockwood.  Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were conducting surveillance on the property and alerted responding Deputies to the description of the subject.  Patrol Deputies searched the enclosed construction site and located Daniel Howard, attempting to conceal himself, at the site.  Deputies discovered tools commonly associated with committing burglaries and illegal narcotics with Howard.  Through the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered evidence to indicate that Daniel Howard matched the suspect description of a previous burglary that occurred at the same location on June 9, 2022.

Daniel Howard was arrested by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and is facing the following charges:

Burglary of a business (2 counts), a felony

Grand larceny, a felony

Possession of burglary tools (2 counts), a gross misdemeanor

Possession of a controlled substance, a felony

Attempted grand larceny, a felony

Destruction of property, a felony
