Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies discover a large amount of drugs during Verdi traffic stop

While on patrol in the Verdi area, WCSO Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the early morning hours of July 8, 2022. While approaching the vehicle, the Deputies observed passenger Randy Panzer (DOB 6/8/1985) acting erratically in the vehicle and attempting to discard multiple blue pills in a water jug. Panzer and the female driver were detained and during the investigation, nine bags of blue pills believed to be Fentanyl were located on or near Panzer's person.
In all, 2,630 grams (5.798 pounds) of Fentanyl pills were seized. Panzer is being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility on drug charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
