Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen announced today that he has appointed Deputy Jeff McCaskill to serve as Public Information Officer for the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. Deputy McCaskill will join current Public Information Officer Bob Harmon as the primary contact for media seeking information about the Sheriff's Office.
"We are committed to doing all we can to support an open dialogue with the community and the timely release of public safety information," said Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen. "Designating a second Public Information Officer ensures that the Sheriff's Office is in position to effectively communicate with the public 24/7."
Deputy McCaskill is a native Nevadan and has worked for the Washoe County Sheriff's Office for 9 years. Deputy McCaskill has previously been assigned to the Detention Division as a Detention Deputy and the Operations Division as a Patrol Deputy.
"Washoe County is my home and I love it here," said Deputy McCaskill. "The Sheriff's Office believes in communication and engagement with the community at every level. I look forward to being a part of that process."
