The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from Storey County Detectives, have developed additional suspects and information related to the burglary cases out of Storey County. Detectives from Washoe and Storey County have identified additional suspects and are seeking the public's assistance in locating these individuals.

On January 9, 2012, the Storey County Sheriff's Office responded to a residential burglary in the Virginia City Highlands, where numerous guns and ammunition were stolen, along with credit cards, knives, and misc property. One of the suspects used a stolen credit card from the burglary here locally in the Reno-Sparks area. The Storey County Sheriff's Office did a media release with surveillance photo's from one of the transactions.
Based upon the media release, the Storey County Sheriff's Office received a Secret Witness tip identifying Daniel Garcia, a Sun Valley resident, as a possible suspect.

On January 11, 2012, the Storey County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detectives Division after the tip was developed. On this same day, the Detectives from both agencies successfully served a search warrant at the residence and located 10 guns (in include rifles and handguns), ammunition, knives, jewelry and other miscellaneous property stemming from Storey County burglaries.

Following the search warrant at Garcia's residence, Detectives seized a 2011 Can-Am ATV and a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a combined value in excess of $26,000.00. Surveillance videos from two local dealerships show Garcia and Hager purchasing the motorcycles and ATV with cash after the burglary. Both of these vehicles are believed to have been purchased with monies obtained from the burglaries.
Garcia was add-booked for Possession of Stolen Property and 10 counts of Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Garcia's bail has been set at $101,140.

On January 12, 2012, Detectives served a related search warrant in the 300 block of Quartz Lane and arrested Joseph Hager, a 29 year-old Sun Valley resident. Detectives recovered a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, valued at $14,400.00, from Hagar believed to have been purchased with monies obtained during the burglary. Hagar was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and traffic related offenses. Hagar's bail is set at $3465.00.

Detectives have also identified the vehicle used during the burglary as a stolen white Ford F-350, 4-door, with running lights above the cab. This truck had been reported stolen out of Reno days prior to the burglary and was located the day after the burglary near Yorkshire Drive in North Reno. The truck had been damaged and left off-road.

Detectives have obtained additional surveillance images of a white male driving a white utility truck shortly after the burglary. Witnesses in the area of the burglary reported seeing a similar truck near the victim's residence. This unknown suspect used the victim's credit cards at a local gas station and Detectives need the public's help in identifying him.

Additionally, Detectives have identified a 30 year-old Sparks's resident as a suspect in the case. Robert "Jake" Allen was last known to be living in Sparks; however the Department of Parole of Probation issued a warrant for his arrest today after he failed to comply with release conditions related to a burglary conviction. He may be driving a blue and white 1990 Ford Bronco with Nevada plates.

Detectives are reporting that three firearms (1 pistol, 1 rifle, and 1 shotgun) remain outstanding as well as several bows and knives, therefore the public is urged to not approach or detain either of these suspects.

Anyone with information on this investigation is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office Detectives Division at (775) 328-3320 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
