Chief Deputy Timothy Mosley - Administration

Chief Deputy Timothy Mosley began his service with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff in 1999.  Chief Deputy Mosley has experience in all three bureaus: Administration, Detention, and Operations.

As Chief Deputy of the Administration Bureau, he has operational command of the Community Engagement Office (CEO), Records, Civil Process, Backgrounds Unit, Training Section, Research & Development, Dispatch, Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy (NNLEA), and the Forensic Science Division.

Throughout his career with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Mosley has served in a multitude of specialty and leadership assignments, including the Detention Response Team, Hostage Negotiation Team Commander, SWAT Operator, Detective Bureau, Detention and Patrol.  He served as the Operations Captain of the Detention Bureau prior to his appointment to Chief Deputy in July of 2023.

Over the course of his more than 23 years with the Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Mosley has been awarded the Medal of Valor, Sheriff’s Star, and numerous Meritorious Unit Citations.

In his spare time, Chief Deputy Mosley enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and golfing.
