Washoe County Sheriff's Office detectives continue to investigate the deaths of a man and woman that occurred at a residence in Cold Springs late Sunday night.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018, deputies responded to the 18000 block of Spruce Lake Court on a report of a battery in progress with possible shots fired. Deputies located a deceased male adult and a deceased female adult inside the residence.
At this point in the investigation, evidence indicates this was a domestic incident in which the male subject shot the female and then took his own life.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office has identified the male subject as Nicholas Underwood, age 38 of Cold Springs, and the female subject as his wife, Diana Underwood, age 33. Both died as a result of gunshot wounds according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
This is an ongoing investigation.
