Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the death of a woman, whose body was found in a burning car on American Flat Road north of Reno on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identity of the decedent as Christine Townsend, age 51 of Reno, NV. Next of kin have been notified.
Townsend was last seen March 20th in the area of G Street in Sparks during the early morning hours. Her truck was a Gray 2004 Toyota pickup.
Investigators would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Townsend and/or her vehicle between the hours of 1:00 AM - 7:00 AM, March 20. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
