Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Publishes Quarterly Statistics on washoesheriff.com
Washoe County Sheriff's Office
Office: 775-785-6235
Cell: 775-391-0407
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is now publishing quarterly statistics on its website washoesheriff.com. Statistics published include in-custody deaths, arrests, nature of traffic citations, traffic citations and warnings, and use of force.
“Our community demands transparency – and rightfully so,” said Sheriff Darin Balaam. “By posting quarterly statistics on washoesheriff.com residents can see exactly what we are doing – for us, it is another way to continue the discourse of modern policing in Washoe County.
“We owe it to the community to be open and accessible,” continued Sheriff Balaam. “It is my hope that by publishing these statistics we can further engage the general public in areas where current policies and procedures are working – and where there are training opportunities.”
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to preserving a safe and secure community with professionalism, respect, integrity and the highest commitment to equality. Sheriff Darin Balaam is the 27th person elected to serve as the Sheriff of Washoe County since the Office was created in 1861. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office strives to ensure public safety by building trust and creating partnerships within the diverse communities in which we serve. We will promote the dignity of all people supported by our words and actions through open communication while fostering an environment of professionalism, integrity and mutual respect.
