Two members of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will travel to New York this weekend to represent the men and women of the Sheriff's Office at Sunday's services for fallen New York Police Department Officer Wenjian Liu.
Deputy Corey Solferino and Sergeant Marc Bello will travel to New York courtesy of Jet Blue's generous offer to fly law enforcement officers from throughout the country to attend the services. While in New York, the Washoe County Honor Guard members will be hosted at the home of a retired law enforcement Detective from the area.
Both Sgt. Bello and Deputy Solferino are also regular participants of the Police Unity Tour, an annual bike ride that takes place in mid-May to coincide with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.
