Answer:  If the incident is a non-emergency situation that needs law enforcement intervention, call non-emergency Dispatch at 775-785-4629.  If you need to make a report without having someone respond to your location, contact the Front Desk for assistance and other report options (in person, by mail or fax) at 775-328-3001.

Question:  What should I do if this incident is an emergency?
Answer: If your incident is an emergency, call 911 or contact the Front Desk at 328-3001.

Question: What if this happened in another city; can I file a report using this system?
Answer: NO.  If the crime or incident took place outside of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, you should call the applicable police department. 

For the City of Reno, call Reno Police Department at 775-334-COPS. 

For the City of Sparks, call Sparks Police Department at 775-353-2231

Question: What if this happened on a state Freeway?
Answer: If this took place on a state Freeway, you should call the Nevada Highway Patrol Office nearest you.

Question: What is a known suspect?
Answer: A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime or the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in.
